Several powerful ideas have been discussed in this program, and the techniques you've learned can truly help social anxiety. Don't be frightened if lingering social anxiety appears from time to time, even after you've been practicing these methods for awhile. In most cases, you'll be able to identify some sort of negative expectation as the cause. Whatever the cause, once you notice anxiety, remember to not try to suppress, avoid, or run from it. Just engage your energy-acceptance skills and know that you can be okay with it.. With increases confidence in your ability to handle such episodes, along with your new anxiety resistant beliefs, such occurrences will become less frequent. You are incorporating NEW behaviors, modifying long-time belief patterns, and breaking strong habits -- so don't be surprised if anxiety reappears occasionally. Welcome the opportunity to practice and reinforce your knowledge that you can handle it. Thomas Paine once wrote "The mind once enlightened cannot again become dark." Now that you have the skills to cope with social anxiety, you no longer need to run from it. And now that you understand the cause of social anxiety, you no longer need to feed it. The worst point you have been to is where you felt trapped in your social anxiety without knowing how to it. You now have the key and have been shown a way out. So continue working on your emotional self-reliance, consciously put energy into producing more empowering thoughts, and to never stop taking action toward your social objectives.
